17 Years (born 2008, 2007 & 2006)
Opens (born 2005 and older)
Players turning 15, 16 and 17 years in 2023 (born 2008, 2007 & 2006) are eligible to nominate for the 17 Years age group. Players turning 18 years or older (born 2005 or before) are eligible for the Opens age group. Players must nominate for the correct age group. Nominees for the 17 Years age group may be selected for an Opens team, at the discretion of HDNA.

TRIAL LOCATION

(The indoor courts are located upstairs in the grey building.)
ELIGIBILITY
All players trialling must belong to a club/team affiliated to HDNA and must participate in a 2023 HDNA winter competition. Players are not eligible to trial at HDNA if they have been named in a representative team at another association.
TRIAL ATTENDANCE
Players nominating for EPL must attend all trial dates. A medical certificate MUST be emailed to vicepresident@hdna.net.au if a player is unable to trial. Any other request to not attend trials must be submitted by email to the HDNA Vice President two weeks prior to the trial date with a detailed reasoning. Consideration may be given but not necessarily accepted.
TRIAL INFORMATION
– Wear a white t-shirt/singlet and black bummers/bike pants.
– Remove all jewellery and trim nails before arrival.
– Bring a water bottle and sweat towel.
– Arrive at least 20 minutes before trail start time and present to the desk to register.
– Due to limited space, only players will be allowed into the building. Parents are asked to drop and go.
TRAINING
Training is compulsory and will be held on Wednesdays at the HDNA courts or indoors at Tallebudgera Recreation Centre. Times to be advised.
GAMES
All players must be available for games on consecutive Friday nights for the duration of the season from April to August/September (to be confirmed). Games will be played at Mt Warren Indoor Sports Centre.
SELECTION
Upon selection into a team a $100 deposit will be required to secure your position. If a player withdraws following acceptance of a position, they forfeit the deposit. Upon selection, parents and players will be expected to sign parent and player codes of conduct.
Junior State Age
The 2023 Junior State Age Championships for 12 years, 13 years and 14 years teams will be held in Townsville from June 24-27. HDNA has organised flights and accommodation for all players.
The 2023 Senior State Age Championships for 15 years, 16 years and 17-18 years teams will be held at Sunshine Coast Netball Association from April 1-4. HDNA has organised transport and accommodation for all players.

Attendance at all training sessions is compulsory.
General
State Age training will be held on either Tuesday or Wednesday evening from 6-8pm.
Absence
It is the responsibility of each player to inform your coach/manager as early as possible if you are unable to attend training. You will be required to provide details of why you cannot attend training. Non-attendance at training can result in reduced court time. Any player who is absent from training on a regular and continual basis without an accepted reason may be removed from the program, without refund.
Uniform
Training uniform (HDNA purple training singlet, black shorts, bike pants or tights, HDNA hoodie or tracksuit) is compulsory attire at all training sessions.
Weather
Players are required to attend training sessions in inclement weather conditions unless otherwise notified by their team coach or manager or HDNA. Your rep coach or manager will also notify players if training or games are cancelled.
What to Bring
Bring a drink bottle and towel and any other item prescribed by your coach. Prepare for the weather conditions. Do not leave jumpers, phones loose on the court…bring your HDNA backpack.
Hair & Jewellery
Hair should be tied back and no jewellery should be worn.
Supervision
Players under 18 should not be dropped off and left at training unless either your team coach or manager is present. Players under 18 need to be picked up by an adult at the conclusion of training. No player is to leave the courts without adult supervision unless an arrangement has been made with their parent or guardian.
Lead-up Carnivals
- All teams will participate in a number of weekend lead-up carnivals.
- Carnivals will be selected by HDNA and you will be notified of dates.
- Cost will be covered in your fees.
- Parents will be asked to help setup and take down the HDNA tents at the carnivals.
- Parents are responsible for arranging transport to and from carnivals for their children.

Any player who sustains an injury or becomes ill must notify their team coach/manager immediately. Injured players are expected to attend training sessions and carnivals.
A medical clearance from a doctor will be required stating that they are able to resume training. Where a player has a long-term injury, the coach should be notified of the management requirements of this injury and the effect on the player’s ability to train and play.
Misconduct
Cases of misconduct by players or parents/caregivers are treated very seriously by HDNA and will be dealt with in accordance with HDNA By-Laws.

Queries and Concerns
• Any queries should be first directed to the team coach and or manager at an agreed time.
• Any queries or concerns should be discussed with your coach and/or manager away from the playing group.
• Please do not approach coaches with a query or concern at or after a game at a carnival.
• Any urgent matters can be brought to the attention of the HDNA Vice President.
