Bond University to make Sapphire Series return

Bond University will rejoin Queensland Netball’s HART Sapphire Series in 2023.

Having only participated in the Ruby Series in 2022, Bond will enter teams in both competitions next year.

The Bull Sharks’ return ensures the competition will remain at eight teams next year following QUT’s decision to withdraw from both series last week.

Bond was a founding member of the HART Sapphire Series in 2019, with Ava Black winning the 2020 Katie Walker medal as series MVP while with the club.

Bond’s re-entry will also set up a Gold Coast derby in the series next season after the Titans completed their inaugural campaign in 2022.
